Make Money Now!

The post-Christmas sighs of relief after all the
hype and build-up are heard everywhere and accompany the
thought of where are you going to keep all this extra stuff you
have been given. While it is always nice to receive a gift,
they tend to accumulate and eventually you have so much
unwanted junk that you are troubled to remember who gave you
it.
Well now is a good time to de-clutter and make a bit of cash at
the same time.
If you haven’t heard of eBay then you have been
somewhere very remote. The auction site of choice is rapidly
expanding but it is not the only one as Amazon and Google
amongst others also have auction sites.
What puts people off about joining an auction site like ebay
appears to be the scam stories that crop up from time to time.
I have been an eBay member for a few years and have not
encountered any serious problems. The golden rule for being a
successful ebayer has to be commonsense and below I will list
what I consider to be the most important
below.
-
If you value your item put in a starting
price or reserve price that you want but remember it may
detract prospective buyers so it is often better to sell
with a minimum starting price (and cheaper). However if it
sells for a very low price then don’t hold it against the
purchaser as they are only paying what the market is
dictating.
-
Create an accurate description your
ebay listing including all damage and marks, backed up with
a suitable photo or photos if necessary (more than one
photo costs extra). Do not try to hide anything as it may
cause a dispute with the buyer leading to poor feedback and
making other future customer’s wary of dealing with you.
-
When the deal is completed and you have
received cleared payment post the item promptly.
-
Your ebay feedback score is like your
reputation, guard it similarly by employing your natural
values. Remember your customer does not know you and is
making a judgment about you based on your level of service.
-
Always use Pay-Pal for transactions. Pay-Pal
and eBay go hand in hand. It’s easy to use and normally has
very few problems. However always, always, always send your
item with a carrier that offers computerized online
tracking. Make sure that you include the price of this and
the packing in your postage costs area of your auction as
it is added to the sale price of your item. By doing this
if your item does not arrive or goes missing due to fraud
you may in some cases be able to claim from eBay,
Pay-pal or the carrier.
-
Ensure the spelling of your item is correct
in your ebay listing otherwise you will not reach the
widest possible range of people. (Some ebayer’s search for
items spelled incorrectly and manages to get them at
knockdown prices before selling them on for a much greater
profit purely because they have corrected the spelling.
